Some Sunday Soul

You don't have to be a Saint to be someone's Angel.
You don't have to be rich either. Taking the time to recognize that someone needs help is the first step to recognizing the divine within you and within another person. You do not have to give things to help others sometimes the only thing that you have to give is respect and recognition of their humanity.
Feeling good about you begins with feeling good about another person. An amazing thing happens when you step out of your own needs and focus on the needs of another who has less. I am not talking about being a door mat that someone walks all over but I am talking about seeing those who are suffering around you and finding your own personal way to some how alleviate their loneliness and suffering. Don't be a door mat, be a welcome mat. Compassion is not a dirty word.
When we see evil do we look beneath it at what caused a person or a group of persons to come to adopt behaviors that are self-destructive or world-destructive? When we see the hungry do our hearts open up with empathy or do we look down on them? When we see the mean spirited do we question how their divinity became so muddied up by life?
It is hard to get behind the ugliness of life and recognize that we are all spiritual beings having a material experience.
Can you see what a different world it would be, if each one of us each day shared a bit of our hearts and love with another? How will you love today?
